What is Jujutsu Kaisen Anyway?

Well, imagine a world where scary monsters called “Curses” are real and they’re causing trouble. These Curses are born from people’s negative feelings – like when people are sad, angry, or scared. But don’t worry! There are also super cool people called Jujutsu Sorcerers. They’re like magic warriors who fight these Curses to protect everyone. Our main hero is Yuji Itadori. He’s a super strong and kind-hearted kid who accidentally eats a powerful cursed object. This gives him amazing powers, but also puts him in a lot of danger!
Yuji goes to Jujutsu High, a special school for sorcerers, where he learns to control his powers and fight Curses alongside his friends Megumi Fushiguro, who can summon powerful creatures, and Nobara Kugisaki, who’s a super cool fighter with a hammer and nails! And their amazing teacher? That’s Gojo Satoru, who is known as the strongest sorcerer in the world! He’s super powerful and a little goofy, but he always looks out for his students.
Jujutsu Kaisen is full of awesome fights, cool characters, and a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. If you haven’t seen it yet, you totally should!
Season 2 Recap: The Wild Shibuya Incident!
Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen was called the “Shibuya Incident,” and wow, was it a wild ride! Imagine a big, busy city like Shibuya in Japan suddenly getting trapped under a magical veil. This veil was put up by bad guys who wanted to cause chaos and hurt lots of people. These bad guys are cursed spirits and evil sorcerers, led by someone who looks like Suguru Geto (but it’s complicated!).
During the Shibuya Incident, Yuji and his friends had to fight tons of really strong Curses. There were battles everywhere! Megumi showed off his amazing summoning skills, Nobara fought bravely as always, and Yuji pushed himself to his limits to protect everyone.
But things got really serious. Gojo Sensei, the strongest sorcerer, ended up getting trapped! That was a huge shock! And some of our favorite characters got hurt. Sadly, Nanami, a cool and dependable sorcerer, was killed by a really nasty Curse called Mahito. And Nobara… well, Nobara got badly hurt, and we’re not sure exactly what happened to her. It was a super sad and scary time.
At the end of the Shibuya Incident, things changed a lot. The bad guys succeeded in their plan to shake things up in the Jujutsu world. And now, things are going to be even more complicated in Season 3!

Get Ready for the Culling Game in Season 3!
So, what’s next for Yuji and his friends? Season 3 is going to be all about something called the “Culling Game”! Sounds intense, right? It is!
Think of the Culling Game like a giant, super dangerous tournament that’s been set up by the bad guys. Remember that person who looks like Geto? Well, it’s actually someone else pretending to be him, called Kenjaku. Kenjaku is really smart and really evil, and he’s the one who started the Culling Game.
The Culling Game is basically a battle royale where lots of sorcerers and even regular people who suddenly got magic powers are forced to fight each other. Kenjaku’s plan is to cause even more chaos and make things even worse in the world. Yikes!
In Season 3, Yuji, Megumi, and maybe even Nobara (we’re hoping!) will have to figure out how to stop the Culling Game and defeat Kenjaku’s evil plans. They’ll have to team up with new allies, face even stronger enemies, and push their powers to the absolute limit.
The Culling Game arc in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga (that’s the Japanese comic book the anime is based on) is super long and full of twists and turns. So, Season 3 is going to be packed with action, suspense, and maybe even some surprises! Get ready for even more amazing fights and emotional moments!
When Will Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Come Out?
Okay, the big question everyone wants to know: When can we watch Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3? Unfortunately, we don’t have an exact release date yet. It’s still a bit of a mystery, like trying to solve a puzzle!
But we can do some detective work to try and figure it out! Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen, the Shibuya Incident, finished airing in December 2023. Right after that, they announced that Season 3, the Culling Game arc, was coming! That’s awesome news!
However, making anime takes a lot of time and hard work. Animators have to draw everything, color it, add movement, and put in all the cool sound effects and music. It’s a huge job! The studio that makes Jujutsu Kaisen, called MAPPA, is super talented, but they’re also very busy working on lots of other amazing anime.
Think about it like this: Season 1 of Jujutsu Kaisen came out in 2020, and then Season 2 came out in 2023. That’s about a two-year gap! Since Season 3 is going to be a big and important part of the story, it might take about the same amount of time to make.
So, if we guess based on that, we might be looking at Season 3 coming out sometime in late 2025 or maybe even 2026. We know, we know, that feels like a long time to wait! But trust us, good things are worth waiting for, and we’re sure Season 3 will be totally worth it!

Sneak Peek Alert! The Season 3 Trailer and Key Visual!
To give us a little taste of what’s to come, the creators of Jujutsu Kaisen released a very short teaser trailer and a cool picture called a “key visual” for Season 3!
The trailer is super short, only about 20 seconds long. It doesn’t show a lot of finished animation, but it does show some sketches of Yuji and Geto (or Kenjaku!). It’s just enough to get us even more excited! It basically confirms that the Culling Game arc is really happening!
The key visual is a cool picture that shows Yuji with a bloody hand. It’s a little mysterious and hints at the intense battles and challenges he’s going to face in the Culling Game. These little sneak peeks are like appetizers before a big, delicious meal – they make us even hungrier for more Jujutsu Kaisen!

Who’s Coming Back for Season 3? Meet the Characters!
Of course, we’re all wondering which of our favorite characters will be back for Season 3! While we don’t have official cast lists yet, we can make some pretty good guesses!
We are almost 100% sure that Yuji Itadori, our brave and kind main hero, will be back! He’s voiced by the amazing Junya Enoki in Japanese. And we’re definitely expecting to see Megumi Fushiguro, the cool and collected sorcerer who can summon creatures! He’s voiced by Yuma Uchida.
And what about Gojo Satoru, the strongest sorcerer? Even though he’s trapped right now, we have a feeling he’ll find a way to come back eventually! He’s voiced by Yuichi Nakamura. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that we’ll see him again in Season 3!
We also expect to see more of Geto (or Kenjaku!), voiced by Takahiro Sakurai. And remember Yuta Okkotsu? He’s the main character from the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie and he’s a super powerful sorcerer too! He might show up in Season 3, voiced by Megumi Ogata. And maybe we’ll even see Megumi’s step-sister, Tsumiki, voiced by Saori Hayami.
Sadly, because of what happened in the Shibuya Incident, we probably won’t see Nanami and maybe not Nobara in Season 3, except maybe in flashbacks. But who knows what surprises the creators have in store for us?
Get ready to see some familiar faces and maybe even meet some cool new characters in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3!
