Honkai: Star Rail’s latest 2.0 patch brought Sparkle into the mix of playable characters in the game, stealing the spotlight among the fans with her very own set of personality, story role, and stunning design. Thankfully for the players, however, her playstyle mechanics are just as incredible as hers with her very own set of specialized support moves that include skill point generation and damage and Critical Damage increases. And, to top it all, her Advance Forward mechanics are just as great as Bronya’s, which means she can fit into any team composition set depending on the particular team needs.
It should be noted, however, that some teams will be utilizing her skills better than others. Something that should particularly be remembered by those players who will be needing to heavily utilize the skill points or those who are heavily dependent on the Advance Forward mechanism, particularly when playing slow DPS characters. On top of that, Sparkle’s utility is optimized when combined with other Quantum characters because she can buff their ATK, making her an incredible choice for Quantum DPS roles. Below are some of the best team compositions that include Sparkle in Honkai: Star Rail.

1. Sparkle + Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae + Ruan Mei + Luocha

Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae (DHIL) is often considered one of the best examples of a DPS character who requires a lot of skill points to invest in, taking up to three in order to fully upgrade his Basic ATK. The Sparkle character, which boasts high skill point benefits, can be combined with another support character like Ruan Mei, along with Luocha for healing, both of which also help positively in skill point management.
The combination enables Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae to cause heavy damage without fail, releasing players from the hassle of skill point management. Also, when Sparkle’s Speed is increased beyond 160, players can also optimize Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae’s other stats without having to use Speed boots.
2. Sparkle + Seele + Silver Wolf + Fu Xuan

Sparkle is also an excellent addition in mono-Quantum team builds because she does most of her damage when there are two or more Quantum characters in a team. Thus, for Seele’s highest utility and damage output, Sparkle is the best Harmony character to add to her team. It is especially useful when combined with other Quantum characters like Silver Wolf, who can set enemies weak against Quantum, and a sustain character like Fu Xuan, who can increase the Critical Rate of the team further.
Non-max optimized players of Seele too will derive a lot of benefit from the synergy provided by these characters. One also has to take into account that even though Seele does not need as many skill points as DHIL, she does benefit from the skill point regeneration of Sparkle, considering the amount of damage she depends on her Skill and Ultimate for. If the enemy is already weak to Quantum, one can choose to substitute Silver Wolf with Pela.

3. Sparkle + Jing Yuan + Tingyun + Huohuo

It may not be as glaring at first sight as Seele or DHIL, but Jing Yuan is another character who will gain much from Sparkle’s buffs. The Advance Forward mechanism is a big assistance in enabling him to stack Lightning Lord properly. With this team setup, Tingyun is one of the best sustain characters for Jing Yuan, stacking his ATK once more and enabling him to utilize his Ultimates.
For the last team position, players may use any sustain character they possess; however, the combination of Tingyun and Huohuo can provide more synergy, with more ATK stacking and Energy Regeneration. Synergy provides Jing Yuan with a huge ATK bonus, and Sparkle wants to enhance his DMG and Crit DMG. Both buffs last until Sparkle’s turn, and Lightning Lord is able to keep those bonuses, but at reduced speed from the rest of his party.
4. Sparkle + Qingque + Asta + Lynx

For those who want a freer team build than F2P ones, it can be said that most of the alternatives are 5-star characters. In this sense, Sparkle synergizes very well with Qingque. This is due to the fact that Sparkle’s ascension attribute enhances the attack power of Quantum characters, and hence favors Qingque. Qingque also benefits much from the skill point distribution because her basic attacks rely on some randomness for the boost, especially for those who do not possess her sixth Eidolon.
Asta, which enhances attack and speed, is also a synergizing character. This can be useful if one wants to accelerate Sparkle. Lynx also contributes to team sustainability while increasing the number of Quantum characters, hence Sparkle’s passive buff. These 4-star characters are usually available without Gacha, and hence form a good alternative, especially for hard content such as Pure Fiction, where Qingque, being an Erudition character, is best.
